Alumni Spotlight – Taylor Kessock

Risk Center Staff · October 31, 2019 ·

Taylor Kessock graduated from the Moore School of Business in 2017 with a double major in risk management and insurance and international business. Despite being a recent graduate, she has already found success in her career with Aon in New York City. For two years she worked as an M&A (merger and acquisition) consultant performing risk due diligence for private equity firms and large corporate clients. Part of her responsibilities included executing reviews of different targets’ insurance programs Financial and Actuarial Analysis, and Purchase Agreement evaluation. Recently Taylor has transitioned from an M&A consultant to an account director within the production team. Her role involves identifying new and existing client opportunities; developing new and existing client relationships; implementing innovative insurance and risk management programs; and bringing the best of Aon’s vast array of insurance, risk management, financial and related resources to their clients. This shift to a new position has been a great opportunity and an exciting next step in her blossoming career.
Although she is a Colorado native, Taylor feels a strong sense of community at USC and enjoys the culture and people saying that coming back to visit USC feels like home. She has even connected with other USC alumni at her current job, with the head of middle-market segment being a fellow USC alumnus.
Taylor found her passion for risk management and insurance through an internship with The McCart Group, now owned by EPIC. She found it to be very interesting and dynamic. Also, at USC, Taylor had the unique opportunity to travel to London with one of her first Risk Management and Insurance classes allowing her to see real world applications of RMI. Taylor wants students who are considering majoring or minoring in risk management and insurance to know that insurance is an exciting and ever-evolving industry while having great work/life balance with the opportunity to network and socialize with other professionals.
