Dr. Robert Hartwig and Dr. Ai He, a finance professor, were both quoted in the 2020 issue of the Darla Moore School of Business’ Moore Magazine. They are featured on pages 20-22 in an article, “Weathering the Storm,” about research on natural disasters having lasting impacts on the economy and financial well-being. Dr. He’s research, which is in the process of being published, focuses on the impact of natural disasters on banks and, more specifically, the spillover effect from common banks. Dr. Hartwig, “has studied the economic impacts of events like hurricanes, wildfires and tornadoes for decades,” as he was the president and an economist for the Insurance Information Institute in New York prior to coming to USC.
