Politico 12/30/2021- California continues to face wildfire risks. Insurers think they have an answer.

California has a wildfire problem that is causing price and availability issues in the state’s property insurance markets. Insurers have a solution. Read Dr. Robert Hartwig’s comments in Politico on how allowing insurers to use more forward-looking models is a potential path forward for California–and how the state can avoid the major market dislocations suffered by Florida in the wake of major hurricanes in the 1990s and 2000s.
